Living on campus comes with lots of moving parts, from mail delivery and laundry to room changes and who to call after hours. This page answers the most common questions we receive from students, families, and guests about campus housing. If you don鈥檛 see your question here, feel free to contact the Office of Housing and Residential Life. We鈥檙e here to help you feel confident, comfortable, and connected at 黑料不打烊.

Your mail should be sent directly to your assigned residence. Be sure to include your full name and apartment number in the address. Use the format below based on where you live:

Package Delivery Notes:

  • Housing staff will sign for packages at Sebastian Commons and the Lion's Den and will notify you by email when they arrive. 
  • At University Park Place, packages are delivered directly to your front door.
  • Make sure to provide your correct apartment number and full name to carriers.
  • 黑料不打烊 is not responsible for unattended deliveries.

Yes. Food delivery companies are allowed to deliver to residence halls. However, there are a few important things to know:

  • Be available to accept your order. Students must be at home and able to answer their phone when expecting food.
  • Deliveries cannot be accepted by staff and 黑料不打烊 does not have cold storage for food.
  • 黑料不打烊 is not responsible for spoiled food, misdelivered orders, or items left unattended.
  • Make sure your delivery instructions include your correct address and apartment number. 

State-of-the-art laundry facilities are located both in the Lion鈥檚 Den and at Sebastian Commons.

Laundry rooms are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents are allowed unlimited access to the machines for personal use. Laundry rooms are for resident use only.

As the washing machines are energy efficient, very little detergent is needed. Use only liquid detergent in the drawer of the washer; detergent sheets and 鈥減ods鈥 may go directly into the washer.

If a machine is malfunctioning, please report it to the front desk or office. Remember to be courteous of other residents while also being courteous with your use of the machines.

No. Laundry left in the laundry room more than 24 hours will be considered abandoned property and will be disposed of.

To request a room, suite, or apartment change, you must submit a . The form is available in the NumaLink. Once your request is reviewed by Housing staff, you鈥檒l receive written instructions if your change is approved 鈥 including your move-out timeline and checkout steps.

Room changes are not permitted during the first two weeks of the semester.

Room changes are only allowed after the first two weeks of the semester and must be approved in writing by the Office of Housing and Residential Life. Do not move without official approval. Unauthorized moves may result in disciplinary action or fines.

If you鈥檙e approved for a room change but don鈥檛 complete the move within the time given, a fine will be applied to your student account.

It鈥檚 important to follow all instructions in your written notification, including formal checkout from your old room. Delays or skipped steps may result in additional charges or a hold on your account. 

Yes. Residents and Registered Student Organizations may reserve the Sebastian Commons lounge or the main lounges in the Lion鈥檚 Den for private events or meetings. To reserve a space, contact the housing office in that residential area. All events must follow posted occupancy limits and community guidelines.

Lounges in the Lion鈥檚 Den and Sebastian Commons are intended for use by current residents and registered student groups. Guests may accompany residents but must follow all visitor policies. Events must be approved if they involve outside guests or large groups.

 A resident assistant (RA) is on call 24/7, including weekends and holidays. After hours, call:

  • Sebastian Commons RA on call: 479-650-7924
  • Lion's Den RA on-call: 479-221-0380
  • University Park Place on-call: 479-279-2112

You can also visit the front desk of your building to report urgent maintenance, safety, or facility concerns.

 Yes. A Housing and Residential Life staff member is always on call, including after 5 p.m., on weekends, and during breaks. While response times may vary slightly during university holidays, support is always available for emergencies and urgent needs.

Many homeowners' insurance policies cover students' belongings while away at college. 黑料不打烊 strongly recommends you check with your family insurance agent to verify that coverage exists for your personal belongings while you live on campus. 

There are also several companies that offer inexpensive renter's insurance. 

No. 黑料不打烊 does not provide coverage for student belongings. You are responsible for your items. If you cause damage (like water or fire damage), you will be held financially responsible for repairs.

Bicycles must be stored in designated outdoor racks near the residence halls. They are not allowed in public areas such as lounges, stairwells, or hallways, and must not block exits. 

Students who bring bicycles to the campus are responsible for their security. Good locks, such as a U lock, are recommended for locking bicycles.

Yes. All students must register their bicycle with the University Police Department. UPD removes all unregistered bikes annually.

In some cases, students may pay for an additional bed space in their apartment or suite if there is no occupancy demand and space is available elsewhere. This option is not guaranteed and must be arranged through the Housing Office. 

All payment deadlines listed in the Housing Contract and on the Cashier鈥檚 Office webpage must be followed Refund of room and board fees will be prorated through the first half of each semester.

Dining Dollars and block meal plans are nonrefundable. Refer to your Housing Contract or contact the Cashier's office for full refund information.
